Project Citizen Teachers Training 2011

The Philippine Center for Civic Education and Democracy with the Tan Yan Kee Foundation and the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) – Institute of Political Economy recently conducted the 2011 Project Citizen Teachers Training held last September 23 and 24 in UA&P’s PLDT Hall. Now in its 5th year, the 2011 Project Citizen teachers Training was participated by over 100 teachers from the different divisions of the National Capital Region. In particular, the 14 participating divisions are: Quezon City, Caloocan, Pasig/San Juan, Marikina, Muntinlupa, Makati, Valenzuela, Las Piñas, Mandaluyong, Malabon/Navotas, Manila, Pasay, Taguig/Pateros and Parañaque.

The two-day training featured various speakers and facilitators, which include: Mr. Reynald Trillana, the Executive Director of PCCED; Dr. Clement Camposano, the Chairman of the Board of PCCED; Ms. Monica Ang, the Program Director of Project Citizen Philippines; Ms. Vida Gruet, a member of faculty of UA&P’s Institute of Political Economy; and Dr. Ferdinand Pingul, the lead evaluator for Project Citizen Philippines.
The Project Citizen Philippines program will culminate in a preliminary showcase on February 4, 2012 which will feature presentations of policy research proposals from student groups. Five finalists will be chosen to participate in the final showcase on February 8, 2012 where the Tan Yan Kee Best in Showcase award will be given.
